Toronto, Ontario (CANADA)
September 2000
We packed a picnic lunch (hoping to recreate the great picnic we had on the last trip [1999]), but alas, it was raining and we had no idea which exit it was...so we ate in the parking lot of a Mickey D's! Friday we ate dinner at 360°, the revolving restaurant atop the CN Tower, and Saturday we ate dinner at Leoni's Italian Kitchen, a great family-style Italian restaurant (the piece of chocolate cake was like nothing we had ever seen or tasted before--we couldn't even finish one piece!) and saw a sketch comedy show at Second City (the starting place of John Candy and Mike Myers, among others). I would have to say the show (like SNL but 100% better) was the funniest I have ever seen in my life! (On a side note, Tom has decided he LOVES Toronto.) Remember Chicago's Cows on Parade?? Toronto's version is Moose on the Loose, and Monarch Moose just happened to be right outside our hotel, the Delta Chelsea! He was bigger than he looks--about 7' tall!
